Hello! I’m Sheryl, a dedicated mom, avid baker, and the heart behind Surfside Paws. Originally from Long Island, New York, my family and I relocated to Rhode Island for my husband’s job. This move gave me the opportunity to embrace being a stay-at-home mom—a role I cherish. But as time went on, I felt the need to build something of my own, a venture that would allow me to contribute meaningfully while staying close to my family.

My journey began with a simple dog-sitting business, which perfectly combined my love for animals with the flexibility of being home for my kids. However, things took a serious turn when we discovered my youngest daughter had a severe peanut allergy. This heightened our vigilance, especially since many pet foods and treats could contain allergens. It wasn’t just about keeping our pets safe anymore—it was about protecting my daughter and other families like ours.

The pivotal moment came when our eldest, who doesn’t have a peanut allergy, accidentally ate a dog treat. Thankfully, however, it was a stark reminder of how easily accidents can happen. I realized that many families, like mine, face these hidden risks every day. That’s when I knew I had to do something.

At Surfside Paws, our mission is simple: to provide safe, high-quality dog treats that families can trust. Our treats are made in small batches with organic, limited ingredients and are free from common allergens like peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, soy, and wheat. They’re crafted not only with pets in mind but also with the safety of your entire household. My goal is to give families an alternative product they can feel confident about—treats that are healthy for your pets and safe for curious little hands.
